Overall Description:

Debuting at IPCPR 2017, this is the 3rd line in the popular Undercrown umbrella.  The Maduro, and also the shade have started the line off strong, and this addition will hammer away at the piece of the market that Drew Estate has not hit yet with the Undercrown line.  The cigar is meant to be a tad spicier and less sweet than the Maduro.

Initial:  The pig vitola for a cigar is beautiful.  Feels full in your hands, but is overall usually packed with a pinch.  This pig is beautifully constructed, with a light brown wrapper with no blemishes or imperfections.  There is a pigtail cap which is nice, no cutter necessary.  Just pinch and twist.

Prelight:  The nose off the foot is sweet hay and leather.  The draw is a bit tight without cutting, so I will cut it just a bit.  Once its cut, the draw is smooth, like a milkshake through a straw.

Overall:  Medium to full bodied.  This is the second offering of the sungrown that I smoked. The first was a Toro from IPCPR and this one was the flying pig vitola.  Overall the flying pig gives more of punch and more in depth flavor profile.  From IPCPR the cigar may have been dry and I will definitely smoke a few other vitolas.  I do generally prefer the flying pig vitola when smoking a DE.  This one is definitely different and not as sweet as the Maduro which is expected.  It is a nice bridge between the shade and the Maduro.  Give it a shot.
