Overall Description:

The Viaje Exclusivo blend (White band with Black printing) was originally a personal blend for creator Andre Farkas.  Over the years Andre, and Viaje, used the Exclusivo blend as an event only cigar, and then turned the line into regular production in 2015.  The reserva extension is a premise that uses tobacco that has been aged longer, and then once constructed left to age together for a longer duration.

The Exclusivo Reserva is offered in 2 sizes, Toro and Robusto, both boxpressed.

Overall:  The newest cigar out of Fabrica de Tabacos Raíces Cubanas S. de R.L for Viaje delivers an abundance of leather and cocoa flavor up front. The cigar itself has what seemed to be a paper thin wrapper that fell apart a little at first but was easily fixed.. The draw was perfect on mine with the cigar only needing minor touch-ups. Nice little cigar that was a medium to medium full that delivered the usual Viaje flavor for me.

Overall:  Medium Bodied.  The initial scent given off of the foot is a cedar note, and the toast adds a nice toasted almost aroma to the senses.  As the cigar progresses the retrohale becomes more complex to balance out the palate notes.  The cedar is mostly on the retrohale, while the mouth tastes some fruit and leather.  The wrapper is delicate.  A few areas of touch up were needed, but nothing that took away from the experience.  A very smooth cigar from start to finish.

Overall:  This cigar is on the mellow side for a viaje, and that caught me off guard, especially with a black ‘reserva’ band.  It was pretty consistent throughout, and maintained a good burn and great draw.

Overall:  Pre-light draw offered a strong cocoa note for me that really had me ready to light this one up.  The shaggy foot when lit gave off a strong leather note.  Overall this cigar was a lot more mellow than I usually expect from a Viaje but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.  It was a medium bodied cigar that didn’t offer too many major changes throughout but provided good flavors during the entire smoking session.  I only needed to touch up the burn once at the end and that may have been more my fault than the cigars.  I was actually pleasantly surprised by something not so in your face from Viaje.
